    “Maximum” Guild Level Achieved!
    Guild Level 65 Thumbnail

The guild reached level 65 today! Although guilds continue to gain levels beyond, we have earned all perks currently available through the guild leveling system.

A huge thanks to everyone who contributed to this milestone, whether you added vast or modest sums of XP, from longtime members and recent additions, and to those who helped along the way but aren’t with us anymore. For a guild as small, personal, and real-life focused as we are, this is an immense accomplishment!

    Guild Leveling!

The guild reached level 24 today! For the efforts of only a few, it’s satisfying progress. The Perseverance is fully unlocked (for Guild Perks, at least).

Still just treading water, awaiting the expansion. /bored but also /excited

Guild Level 13 – the Luckiest Level

The guild reached level 13 today! Auspicious.

Ossus and Dantooine are cool, but the guild is basically in a holding pattern, awaiting more information about the Onslaught 6.0 expansion to SWTOR. Maybe once there’s new operations content, our raid-focused guild will have something to do again. Now taking applications! :p

  • 8 + 16 = -2 :(

    8 + 16 = -2 🙁

    8 Players – 16 Lightsabers – 2 Farewells
    8 Sents vs Eternity Vault

Tonight was the final raid with the full complement of Honeybadgers. Eldirar and Auri are both taking their talents to land of Real Life First. To say that we’ll miss them, or that things won’t be the same without them, is to ludicrously understate the extent of our feelings. Who now will rescue and heal us? Who now will occupy the special quantum superposition of second sentinel and top comedian simultaneously?

To celebrate our years together, we decided to do something we always meant to do: an All-Watchman team of 8 through an operation. The video here is a rough draft of the final accounting, and farewell.

We dearly hope to see you guys back when the content warrants it. Fare well until then, animator of digital puppets and captain of googley mysterios!

  • Satele Shan: Now Serving

    Satele Shan: Now Serving

We All Arrive on Satele Shan

… and other innuendoey phrases. The Harbinger will never again crash, uttering each time “this hurts you.” West Coast and APAC players will never again enjoy a playable ping. It could be worse, though. Instead of arriving on Satele Shan, we could easily have been doing it on the Hot Prospect, which … what does that even mean?

It’s an all new server, with all new people, and lots of new possibilities. Let’s hope the influx of new players is a good thing for us all (is it Harby-centric to think of it as an INflux?). Our raid team continues to suffer attrition due to the special combination of slow, uninteresting ops content releases, and real-life factors. So, a newly infused pool of players on the server can only be a good thing.

The third boss in Gods will be out now. The piecemeal approach to content releases makes it hard to sustain interest in raiding guilds like ours, especially because of the gap between the difficulty settings. Storymode is borderline boring; Hardmode is basically Nightmare. Raid groups that enjoy a challenge, but don’t want to work part time on raids, have no content to enjoy right now.

  • Conquistadors?

    Conquistadors?

    Just Call us Conquistadors

It’s uncertain how we achieved this destiny. We didn’t try to. Was there a bug? Did some unknown benefactor single-handedly craft us to millions of CQ points? So many questions, yet no answers.

We may never know how we achieved our first ever Conqueror of Anything title, but here we are. It makes for great screenshots, at least!

Life Day Celebration Aboard the Perseverance

A big thanks to Mirne for his hard work to gussy up the flagship for a Life Day celebration! He spruced up with holo-spruce trees, and the bridge and utility areas never looked so festive! Visit the Perseverance today, because these decorations won’t be up till Arbor Day (like my RL xmas decos probably will be).

  • First Fika

    First Fika

    Smashing Soa and Breaking Ice!

Our inaugural Fika Night mobilized a large group of Initiates and Old-Timers for an assault on the Eternity Vault, and on ignorance itself! The icebreaker for the night asked players to reveal to the group one interesting factoid about themselves … anytime their player needed to respawn. For any reason.

Plus, half the raid group had never been to EV before on any difficulty setting. So there was a lot of learning. We learned fight mechanics. We also learned about spouses, children, “how we met” stories, and learned that a bunch of people in our guild serve their country in the military. And everyone who didn’t already know, also learned that one of us likes to talk a lot. All in all, it was a great night.

  • Parade of Homes

    Parade of Homes

Grand Party & Parade of Homes!

As part of the competition for ownership of the guild’s Office of the Flagship Decorator in Chief, Delusions hosted a party in the Corsuscant strongholds of all participants (and a few freeloaders who just wanted visitor-achievements). Screenshots at this link here.

Entrants were Parthena, Miragefla, Mirne, Toombs, Weems, Xhad. Parthena won a resounding victory, and is currently serving as the guild’s Fashionista. His work to date on the Flagship is every bit the work of art he showed he was capable of in his Jedi Academy. Memorable events were a race to see who could die the farthest out in the dune sea, a lemming dive off the Tatooine balcony, and Parthena’s Speeder Training Course.

    Delusions of Summer Flame

What an incredible summer! Our family grew by leaps and bounds, including teams of new Peacekeepers, a new Diplomat, our first Celebrant, the release of Strongholds, huge briefing rooms full of chairs and posters, a barren but homey Flagship, success in the first week of Conquests with 7th place on Voss, a hundred million credits donated to the guild bank representing a massive collective effort of dailies and crafting and operations, several all out assaults on Imperial bases all over the galaxy, and … well … whew, if that wasn’t enough to fill a summer time span that generally results in a lull of activity, it’s hard to imagine what would!

  • House Thul: Owned

    House Thul: Owned

    House Thul: Owned!

General Madine couldn’t have planned this better himself. Well … maybe he could have. He liked stolen Imperial shuttles disguised as cargo ships, and secret Imperial codes. We just went in the front door guns blazing, but we managed to land on Alderaan and deactivate House Thul.

Thanks to Mat-lar for setting this up for us, and thanks to all the guilds that came to participate! We had hoped for some variety of a sentient Imperial response, but aside from a few PvPers, we rolled unimpeeded.

Stay tuned for similar events coming in the future!

    Delusions Website 2.0

Delusions of Grandeur’s 2.0 website launched. The webdesigner smiled on his creation, for it was good.

Or, at least it didn’t suck.

And yes, its design is heavily influenced by SWTOR’s own official website, and that’s not by accident. It also was harder than one might imagine, because it’s not a matter of copy/pasting (or, at least, if it is, then the webmaster isn’t smart enough to understand that and did things the hard way).

So maybe we’re like a month behind all the other serious raiding guilds in getting this done, but we did it finally. There were many shenanigans trying to get our consular up there to pull everyone else, but after a lot of confusion, a lot of laughs, and a good time had by all, we are all just that much more uberer … erer.

    Guild Founded

    Delusions of Granduer Officially Created

Delusions of Grandeur was officially founded as a guild with the pre-launch guild formation system Bioware ran for several months prior to release.

Other guild names under consideration at the time were Fearless and Inventive, Crimson Vanguard, Serenity, and Sith Happens (which we thought of FIRST (along with eleventybillion others)).

According to EA, “millions” of people played during pre-launch beta tests, and >78,000 guilds were created via this Guild Launch program. Wow.
