Code of Conduct

[vc_row][vc_column width=”3/5″][vc_column_boxed_text el_text_title=”Article 1 – Respect and Fun”]Section 1 – The Leadership, Membership, and Everyone Else

The Leadership Team’s mandate is to hold respect and fun sacrosanct, in that order.   When a conflict arises between respect and fun, respect always wins.   The Membership is to treat other people, guildies and strangers alike, according to those same values.

Delusions players are kind, helpful, and generous with knowledge, not only with each other, but with nubs in general chat, pugs in flashpoints and operations, and randos in warzones.   We don’t make fun of nubs, imperiously boss around pugs in PvE, or mock and belittle bads in PvP.  Life’s too short to be shitty to each other.

Section 2 – No Sticks in Asses

That being said, you don’t have to suffer in silence.  If the nubs are irritating you, the PvE pugs are hopelessly incompetent, and the PvP trolls have your dander up, talk shit in guild chat/discord.  We support each other and we’re there for each other; that’s a facet of mutual respect.  What’s not permitted is to vent those frustrations at the people causing them.  We don’t treat people with disrespect, even when we feel they richly deserve it.  Keep it in-house.[/vc_column_boxed_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”2/5″][vc_single_image image=”161″ img_size=”full” style=”vc_box_rounded”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”3/5″][vc_column_boxed_text el_text_title=”Article 2 – Conflict Resolution”]Section 1 – Drama Happens

Sometimes things get heated, people say things they actually mean, and later have to pretend they didn’t actually mean.  That’s awkward.

Guild drama sucks, but it’s inevitable.

Most guilds have a policy, including this one long ago, that essentially states “you’re adults, work it out.”  But that’s dumb.  Even honestly mature adults have a hard time sorting out conflicts alone.  Delusions is a guild where all members receive the support they need.

Section 2 – The Tattle Tale Principle

As soon as you perceive tension between yourself and another guildy, feel confident and safe to raise your concern with a member of the Leadership Team right away.  Tension most often results from simple misunderstandings, ones that outside perspectives can rapidly diagnose and easily remedy.  And when the cause of tension is not simple, then it’s especially a good idea to involve Leadership as early as possible.[/vc_column_boxed_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”2/5″][vc_single_image image=”166″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”3/5″][vc_column_boxed_text el_text_title=”Article 3 – Human Dignity”]Section 1 – The Great Mystery

If one is to understand the great mystery, one must study all its aspects, not just the dogmatic, narrow view of the Jedi or the Sith.  Delusions is not a guild for people who enjoy polemics, but rather is a guild for individuals who understand and value balance.

Section 2 – Zero Tolerance of Indignity

Delusions has a Zero-Tolerance policy for undignified behavior in all guild communication channels.  In guild chat, the forums, or in discord, the following is utterly unacceptable:

  • Behavior that promotes racial/ethnic hatred.
  • Comments that include recognized racial/ethnic slurs.
  • Comments that use legitimate group titles derogatorily.
  • Comments that insult religions.
  • Comments that insult genders or sexual preferences.

You will not say that something you dislike is so gay, nor will you say that someone you dislike is a faggot, nor will you greet a friend by calling him nigga, nor will you confuse Muslims with terrorists, nor will you refer to your girlfriend as your bitch, nor will you conflate victory with rape.

Section 3 – Low Tolerance of Special Snowflakes

Delusions has a Low-Tolerance policy for the following types of players:

  • Those who are easily triggered,
  • Those who are smug, sanctimonious, condescending, self-righteousness,
  • Compulsive virtue-signalers.

The guild leans somewhat, as all must, so the tolerance here is not the same “zero” it is for indignity above … but it’s still “low.”  One may be disinclined to political incorrectness without necessarily being whiny and/or sententious.[/vc_column_boxed_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”2/5″][vc_single_image image=”167″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”3/5″][vc_column_boxed_text el_text_title=”Article 4 – Cheating and Exploiting”]Cheating is bad. Don’t do it.

This is neither a guild of cheaters, nor a guild for cheaters. If you’re a highly trained forum warrior skilled at endlessly justifying cheating, there are plenty of other battlefields on which you may wage that war.  You will be unceremoniously invited to try your fortunes elsewhere.[/vc_column_boxed_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”2/5″][vc_single_image image=”168″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
